The Greedy get Greedier

What happens when you have no alternative but to receive your assistance through a Bank, money managed by a debit card, saving the state money? What happens is that you then are assessed charges. Money that you need then goes to the bank making them a very healthy profit. This story appeared today here for your reading pleasure. Not only do banks make money on transactions that you make, (having no other alternative to get your cash), but interest, on that Federally expended money. More states are following suite. How about yours? Where does it end? People are being subjected to paying taxes and fees everywhere while inflation makes life more and more difficult for people living on a shoestring. Service departments are now charging you to call them with your problems and questions, on your dime, after the initial call. (In some cases it is a $1.00 for a customer balance inquiry).
Do the math, this represents large dollars. Banking locally is what you hear advertisers say. With one contract bank receiving the money, the state does not have to send the payment to local banks, saving processing money. What ever happened to mailing the money, and you taking the check to the bank? It seems that everyone wants a piece of the pie. Especially those who have it all. What's left for you when they are using your money to make money? Who cares?
