Community outreach

Our priest was found in the kitchen today, cooking for strangers. Well, that not altogether true, as he knows some of us quite well, and loves us anyway. Obviously, he's a lot of fun to be around and crazy enough to invite the entire town to what we call a community meal, "free of charge". This event was advertised over the radio as well as the newspaper.

He was off the hook today, not to say that the meal was nothing but fantastic, but because once he starts getting a reputation for his cooking ability, people may be standing in line to eat. That is the problem when we don't know how many to expect. Many hands made the work easy and the guests were pleasant. And he proved once again, that father knows best.

He prepared, spaghetti and meatballs, salad, rolls, and cookies. Monique kindly came with cupcakes, and her two daughters. As many years as we've had functions in the hall, we have never to my knowledge, run out of coffee. That is a good indicator that the guests enjoyed the socializing as well as the meal. And so did I.

Father Peter makes going to church, and getting involved with church activities fun. Thanks to him we got to meet some real nice folk and look forward to developing our community outreach. If you don't know, he's a whirlwind and all we can do is hang on for the ride, cause you never know where your going next.
