Ice, Ice and more Ice

Nathan had a great time on his way in to the garage today pulling icicles from the back bumper of my car. This morning my husband along with all the other commuters had to put up with one of the worse ice storms ever. The problem is that it was so solid you could hardly remove the thicken frozen water from your vehicle. The roads were a joke. I could hear everyone scraping but it wasn't the usual sound of ice removal.
After he left I went back to bed, and I could hear my neighbor across the street as she tried to remove it from her car.
Had a great time playing with Nathan, of course he wanted to go outdoors but it was freezing rain most of the day. So we watched DVDs and colored, played cars and ate. He loves to eat. It was fun to have the family over for dinner this evening. While Nate took his nap, I went out to scrape a small path and clean in front of the garage door, laying down ice melt.
It has been a rough winter so far, with more on the way Saturday. No one will need to sing me lullaby's tonight.
It seemed that the ice was so thick, people had to go out and buy special shovels to do the job. (half-inch to one inch slabs of ice).
Luckily I got a head start on dinner yesterday, stuffed peppers, with vegetables and spaghetti. Easy enough, except for the cleanup. I enjoy entertaining, somehow we get through it all.

Now as promised ...Jan 7 (Gen. 22-24) The Orthodox Study Bible
(Chapter 22) This scripture is well-known. Abraham is asked by God to offer his only son as a whole burnt offering. They saddle a donkey and Abraham traveled until he saw the place afar off and leaving two men with the donkey behind, proceeded up the mountain with the split fire wood and Isaac. Hands and feet bound and laying on the wood, Abraham raised his hand ready to carry out the deed when the angel of the Lord stopped Abraham. Saying "do not lay a hand on the lad, or do anything to him for I know you fear God." "For My sake you have not spared your beloved son." A ram was provided him for the offering. The Lord said "I will certainly bless you, and assuredly multiply your seed as the stars of heaven and as the sand on the seashore; and your seed shall inherit the cities of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you obeyed My voice."
(Chapter 23) Sarah died and is buried. Land was deeded to Abraham in the presence of the sons of Heth, before all who entered the city, in the cave of the field of Machpelah, (Hebron), in the land of Canaan, she was laid to rest having lived 127 years. Abraham came to mourn and weep for her.
(Chapter 24) Abraham sends his oldest servant under oath to seek a wife for Isaac, from the land and tribe from where he was born, Mesopotamia the city of Nahor. (Not from the daughters of the Canaanites, where he dwelt.) The servant having arrived with many camels, trusted the Lord to show her to him. It was to be the one who offered him well water as well as for the camels. He went to her house, having inquired about shelter, and there seals the deal with the approval of all including Rebekah, (who was a virgin, for no man had known her). The scripture reveals that she was very beautiful and that having beheld her, Isaac took her into her mother's tent and she became his wife. So, Isaac loved her.
