Reading the Bible in one year

Jan. 12 -(Gen. 35-37)
Taken from the Orthodox Study Bible
(Chapter 35)God appeared to Jacob again and said. (10)."Your name is Jacob; your name shall not anymore be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name." (12)."The land I gave Abraham and Isaac I give to you; and your seed after you I give this land." (15)."Jacob call the name of the place where God spoke with him Bethel." Rachel, Jacobs beloved died from hard labor and their son was named Benjamin. She was on her way to Ephrath (that is Bethlehem). Jacob now had twelve sons. (27). Jacob came to Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned. Isaac breathed his last and died at 180 years old. Esau and Jacob buried him.
(Chapter 36) In this chapter, we learn of the Genealogy of Esau. His wives came from the daughters of the Canaanites. Esau dwelt in Mt. Seir. (Edom), making him the father of the Edomites.
(Chapter 37)Jacob dwelt where his father had lived in Canaan. Joseph was the youngest son, who was loved more than the other's by Israel. He made him a tunic of many colors. His brothers could not speak civilly to him because they hated him. (5). "Joseph had a dream; and reported it to his brothers." His brother hated him even more for his dreams and words. (11). "And his brothers envied him, but his father kept the matter in mind." (18). "Now when they saw him afar off, even before he come near them, they conspired against him to kill him." They had planned to say that some wild beast had devoured him. (23). "So it came to pass, when Joseph came in to his brothers, they stripped the tunic of many colors off him." They sold Joseph for 20 pieces of gold, to the Ishmaelites. They dipped Joseph's coat in blood. Jacob mourned and wept for him, believing him dead, refusing to be comforted. (36)."Now the Midianites had sold him in Egypt to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the guard."
